Follow-up to "Barefoot Over The Serengeti". This is the story of David Read from 1936 to 1952 in the colony of Tanganyika (modern-day Tanzania). Covers his first schooling, his move to the Lupa Goldfields and the onset of adult life. The book follows him through his days in the army during the 2nd World War, and subsequently his life as a veterinarian, roaming the African Bush, investigating ritual tribal murder and learning about the reclusive hunter-gatherer Ndorobo people.
