Biography

Dr Roger Spencer, the series editor, is the Horticultural Botanist at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, where he has worked as a gardener, records officer and on the technical staff before joining the scientific staff at the National Herbarium of Victoria. Roger has a MSc and PhD from the University of Melbourne and has been identifying plants in public and private gardens for nearly 20 years. The completion of the full five-volume set of Horticultural Flora of South-eastern Australia represents the culmination of many years' work by Roger. Illustrator Su Pearson studied art at RMIT, and worked as a silver- and goldsmith for ten years before taking up botanical drawing and painting full time. Su enjoys growing plants as well as drawing them, and also gives classes in botanical illustration.
