About this book

Between 1994 and 2002, 28 West Africans have participated in the Wetlands Management course in the Netherlands. As part of this course, theyhad to develop a wetland management plan for a site in their country. In this publication, 19 of these draft management plans have been published. The different management plans clearly show the diversity in wetlands in the region and the different issues surrounding their management. The publication is aimed at promoting the development and implementation of wetland management plans and raising awareness of issues surrounding the management of wetlands in West Africa.
