About this book

Language: Italian with bilingual summary in English and Italian

The authors studied the terrestrial isopods collected by the Mission P.L.G. Benoit - J.J. Van Mol 1972 at the Seychelles. They re-examined the materials of the British Museum (Nat.Hist.) and of the Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm. 34 species are listed; one family, two genera, ten species are new; the synonymy Anomaloniscus seychellarum Verh. = Alloniscus ovatus (Dollfus) is established; many species are re-described. The composition and origin of the isopodan fauna of the Seychelles are discussed.
