Presents members of a single family of plants, the Cactaceae, to which all cacti belong. This book provides an informative text with characteristics of individual habitats and growing instructions for beginners and experienced cactus-growers. The cacti are classified in the book according to their geographical origin. Mexico is unquestionably the home of the largest number of species, followed by the southern states of the USA, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil and Chile. An index of scientific names and synonyms is also contained along with 600 colour photographs.
