This book is a guide for anyone interested in identifying and learning about shells. The well-known name seashell in the title refers to marine molluscs; it includes chitons, bivalves, tusk shells, gastropods and species without shells such as octopus. Most of the common shells are described, plus a few rare ones. The book contains colour photographs illustrating key identification features of 165 species. Biography

Margaret Morley is both a Research Associate and a volunteer at Aukland Museum. She has spent many years collecting, studying and documenting seashells, and has combined her knowledge with the outstanding photographic abilities of Iain Anderson, an experienced underwater photogrpher, to produce this useful, colourful and informative guide.
