Ira H. Carmen is professor of political science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From 1990 to 1994 he served as a member of the Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee, the federal governmental agency that regulates genetic engineering experiments in the United States. He is the author of Cloning and the Constitution.
