The Ecuadorean species of the subfamily Chloridoideae of Gramineae have been revised. In the subfamily there are three tribes, Pappophoreae with two genera: Pappophorum (1 sp.) and Cottea (1 sp.); Eragrostideae with 13 genera: Uniola (2 spp.), Distichlis (1 sp.), Jouvea (1 sp.), Leptochloa (5 spp.), Tripogon (1 sp.), Gouinia (1 sp.), Eragrostis (19 spp.), Eleusine (1 sp.), Daclyloctenium (l sp.), Sporobolus (7 spp.), Muhlenbergia (9 spp.), Lycurus (1sp.) and Pereilema (2 spp.); Cynodonteae with 10 genera: Chloris (7 spp.), Enteropogon (1 sp.), Trichloris (1 sp.), Microchloa (l sp.), Cynodon (2 spp.), Chondrosum (1 sp.), Bouteloua (5 spp.), Aegopogon (2 spp.), Tragus (1 sp.), and Zoysia (1 sp.). Most species are illustrated.
