About this book

In Plant Atlas of Mid-west Yorkshire (Watsonian vice-county 64), Phyl Abbott gives an account of the 1794 vascular plant species recorded in the vice-county since 1984. Introductory pages are followed by a 'Botanical Tour of the Vice-county'. Chapters on gelogy and soils have been written by Geoff Gaunt and Douglas Carroll respectively, former professionals in those fields. The species accounts include information on frequency and habitat requirements with more detailed notes on species which are special to the area. The administrative districts are listed where each species occurs. The coloured plates show additional maps of solid geology, quaternary deposits, administrative boundaries and physical features as well as a selection of the plants.
