Meristems are those regions of the plant that represent the sites of cell division for growth, and represent the functional basis for the divergence in growth strategies between plants and animals. This book will provide an up-to-date overview of the role and control of plant meristems. It will focus on the cellular and molecular characteristics of meristems, and much emphasis will be placed on how work with model species has contributed to our understanding of control mechanisms.
