By: House of Commons Environment Food and Rural Affairs Committee
In 2004 the predecessor Committee undertook a detailed scrutiny of the draft Animal Welfare Bill. In its response the Government accepted many of its recommendations and promised to revisit the Regulatory Impact Assessment. The resulting Bill was introduced in October 2005 and the Committee announced a short enquiry to follow on from the previous work. It received 22 memoranda and held one oral evidence session. This report contains all the evidence in the hope that it will inform the House in its scrutiny of the Bill at Second Reading
