This volume of the illustrated lists of flowering plants of Central Asia (within the People's Republics of China and Mongolia) treats leadwort (Plumbaginaceae), olive (Oleaceae), butterfly-bush (Buddlejaceae), gentian (Gentianaceae), buck-bean (Menyanthaceae), dogbane (Apocynaceae) and milkweed (Asclepiadaceae) families. The more abundant among these, leadworts (41 species) and gentians (111 species) play a significant role in the vegetative cover: the former in the desert territories and the latter in the high mountains. They are also of interest in the botanical-geographic context.
As in the preceding volumes, keys are provided for the identification of genera and species. References of nomenclature and information on ecology and geographic distribution are given for each species.
