This book is the third in a series entitled Biodiversity of Cyanoprocaryotes, Algae and Fungi of Israel and deals with the tribe Agariceae Pat. of the family Agaricaceae (Fr.) Cohn, one of the most important families of the order Agaricales s.l.; the taxonomy and species diversity of the tribe Agariceae is described. The tribe Agariceae is represented by 43 species and infraspecific taxa related to four genera: Melanophyllum Vel., Agaricus L.: Fr. emend. Karst., Endoptychum Czern., and Gyrophragmium Mont.

Synonyms, detailed description of taxa, locations and dates of collections in Israel, ecological and biological peculiarities, distribution, as well as taxonomic and other comments are provided.
