Treated are 47 species of which 14 are proposed as new. The Hawaiian species, divided into provisional species groups, are contrasted and keyed with a separate group of 3 species from the adjacent Line Islands and Wake Island. Information is included when possible on the ecology and the threatened status of each species. All species are keyed and illustrated.
