About this book

Tells a tale of the mysterious manatee for professionals and interested lay people alike. This work attempts to humanize the sometimes difficult-to-grasp characteristics of manatee biology, their relation to the environment, and the biopolitics that result from the intersection of science and wildlife management.

A must-read for anyone with an interest in the conservation of this important species. - Jim Valade, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services Manatee Recovery Activities"
