Vancouver Island offers some of the best scuba diving in the world. Jacques Cousteau has described diving here as, "the best temperate water diving in the world and second best only to the Red Sea." The marine life is abundant and varied with many marine sanctuaries and creatures such as the Giant Pacific Octopus, Red Irish Lord, seals, sea lions, Six Gill Sharks and ancient Cloud Sponges. It is home to the only Boeing 737 artificial reef in the World as well as opportunities to dive ships such as; The Saskatchewan, the G.B. Church the McKenzie and the Cape Breton.
