Language: English with bilingual summary in English and Spanish
Five Ecuadorian genera of the tribe Psychotrieae (Rubiaceae) have been revised. The tribe is treated in its traditional circumscription. In all 61 species are documented: Carapichea (1 sp.), Margaritopsis (4 spp.), Notopleura (36 spp.), Ronabea (2 spp.), and Rudgea (18 spp.). Twelve species are endemic. Four species are described as new: Rudgea clerodendroides Zappi, R. crassipetiolata Zappi, R. pendula Standl. ex Zappi and R. spinigemma Zappi. All taxa are described, keys are provided for all genera with more than one species, and specimens are cited for all species. Selected species are illustrated.
