The world famous seed company, Suttons, started 200 years ago at 13 King Street, Reading. For 170 years they contributed greatly to the economic and social life of the town. They were important nationally in the UK, as they improved the seed trade, and internationally, producing seeds for different soils and climatic conditions.
This book covers the history of the company, biographies of the Sutton family and Douglas Collins, 19C Suttons, Royal associations, Suttons at War, caring and charitable Suttons (Suttons and their Staff), seeds and plants, marketing and the personal accounts of people who have worked for the company.
