About this book

Language: Italian

This book is a guide to all known vascular plants from Val Rosandra, one of the most interesting biotopes of the Trieste Karst in NE Italy (987 taxa). After a brief history of the botanical exploration of the area, the introduction describes the main features of its flora and vegetation, and provides some notions of basic botany.

The second part is an original dichotomous key produced using program FRIDA, which is independent from taxonomic criteria and hence easy-to-use also for beginners. The third part provides more than 3.000 original colour pictures, dot-maps showing the distribution in NE Italy, and ecological-biogeographical notes for all taxa. The appendix associates Latin to Italian names, and to the respective families.
