The New York Botanical Garden fern curator, John Mickel, and Alan Smith, a curator at UC Berkeley, give a monumental treatment of the Pteridophytes of Mexico, which, with 1,008 species and 16 additional varieties and subspecies, is one of the most exciting pteridophytic floras in the world. It is the first modern, comprehensive fern flora for Mexico, with complete keys, maps, and almost 300 pages of line drawings.
