This book is essentially an introduction to 'Flora of Korea', which will be a series of eight volumes, published in 10 parts over the next years. The aim of this volume is to provide a synopsis of the vascular plants occurring on the Korean peninsula and a framework upon which the volumes of the 'Flora' will be based.
The 'Genera' include the accepted scientific name, citations of relevant literature, the Korean name, descriptions of families and genera, identification keys, distribution information, illustrations of endemic genera and comments on taxonomic problems. For each species, the basionym, place of publication, phenological information, a summary of geographical range, worldwide and within Korea, and habitat are also provided. Treats 217 families, 1045 genera, 3034 species, and 406 infraspecific taxa.
