This CD Rom contains the collection of the FAO Species Catalogues published during the period 1980-99, which appeared as FAO Fisheries Synopsis No.125, volumes 1-18. Catalogues are worldwide, annotated and illustrated inventories of species for each of the world's major commercial groups of fishery resources. They are comprehensive reviews of current knowledge on species of aqauatic organisms of present or potential economic interest. Species catalogues include general information on the group and information by species including scientific nomenclature, international and local names, diagnostic features, geographical distribution, biology, fisheries and relevant literature.
