About this book

This book represents the Proceedings of the 4th international Seagrass Biology Workshop (ISBW4), held in Corsica in 2000 and co-organized by a committee of French and Italian seagrass scientists. The book includes 90 papers in form of invited contributions (12 printed pages long) and short notes (4 printed pages long), which are almost equally divided in three main sections: Biology, Ecology and Management of Seagrasses.

Each section is opened by an invited paper, representing a review on a specific topic: Seagrass: a profile of an ecological group (Kuo & Den Hartog); Structure and functioning of Mediterranean seagrass ecosytems: an overview (Buia, Gambi & Zupo); The management of seagrasses in South-East Asia and Australia (Kirkman & Kirkman). More than 150 Authors from 19 different countries are present in the collated papers.
