5-Hole Small Bird Ringing (Banding) Pliers

About this product

The Bird Ringing (Banding) Pliers are for use with split rings - as used by most of the national birding schemes around the world including BTO, SAFRING, USFWS and ABBBS. These pliers can also be used to close split rings supplied by smaller companies specialising in caged birds.

The new design features computer-engineered holes to perfect the size and elliptical angle of each hole. This now ensures even and complete closure of rings, designed to close rings up to 8mm in diameter. They feature 5 elliptical holes of varying diameters (maximum hole diameter = 8, 6.5, 5, 4 and 3 mm) and are suitable for closing BTO ring sizes AA to E.

We strongly recommend that you also carry Bird Ringing Circlip Pliers or Avinet Bird Ringing Circlip Pliers for de-ringing during any bird-ringing sessions.

Note: Lubricant may be found on a small section of the pliers, this is to allow for the pliers to open and close easily and it is not rust.
