In this book, Brutus Ostling has chosen to visit the realm of the eagles, especially the sea or white-tailed eagle and the golden eagle, but we also get to meet other birds such as gulls, eider ducks, forest grouse etc - birds that are at home in the same biotope as these magnificent birds of prey.
Brutus Ostling's unmistakable and unique photos are interspersed with reflections around the eagle in nature, and in our consciousness through history. Staffan Soderblom, well known for his lyrical descriptions of nature, has written the texts - sometimes these are a comment on the pictures, sometimes they widen the perspective and deepen the interpretation.
' Reading this lovely book of photographs, I am transported to colder climes where the eagle is king... I can only imagine the hours that must have gone in to creating this masterpiece ' Bournemouth Daily Echo (March 2009) ' This is a wonderful treat for anyone in awe of these beautiful winged predators ' Sunday Express (December 2008) "The narrative is superb and very easy reading." Highland News (04/04/09) "...a breathtaking insight into the lives of two superlative predators: the golden eagle and white-tailed eagle." Scottish Wildlife (March 2009) 'the photography is beautiful...a beautiful gift for lovers of birds of prey' Revue d'ornithologie de terrain (July-August 2009)
