About this book

This impressive and weighty volume presents the results of a concerted effort to study the arthropod fauna of the United Arab Emirates, which started in 2004 and is involving some 160 specialists.

This volume records 570 species for the first time, including 87 species and subspecies that are new to science, and 5 new genera. Of the 79 families, 43 had not previously been recorded in the UAE.

Species accounts include a colour plate, list of examined specimens, physical description, and distribution information. An introductory chapter describes the collecting methods and localities.
