The published professional literature was searched for gastropods reported from the Texas Cretaceous. The search ended with published articles available at the end of May 1997. Specifically, 29 gastropod superfamilies, 55 gastropod families, 176 gastropod genera and 573 gastropod species were found in the Texas Cretaceous. This included 184 species in the Navarro Group, 39 species In the Taylor Group, 5 species in the Austin Group, 8 species in the Eagle Ford Group, 121 species in the Woodbine Group. 81 species in the Washita Group, 116 species in the Fredericksburg Group and 67 in the Trinity Group. Some species were found in more than one Group and Formation. Descriptions and illustrations of all Texas species found are presented in this publication.
