Extraordinary book

This is a rare gem of a book which really gets the geology of Britain across in an informative and enjoyable manner. It is full of interesting asides, including a section on early settlers and another on coastal erosion, yet, for many, the joy of this book will partly lie in the superb and extensive imagery which portrays natural Britain in ways never seen before in such books. This book represents an invaluable snap-shot in time for natural Britain and its geology and should be in the library of every single school as well as in every household with an interest in the Earth sciences, natural history or who simply is interested in Britain as an island. Anglophiles overseas will absolutely love this book.....
