Language: Chinese with scientific nomenclature

The Mosquito fauna of Yunnan in two volumes, is a comprehensive work on mosquitoes of Yunnan Province. The present results on the research into the ecological habits and the characteristics of mosquitoes in Yunnan province are described in detail in volume one of this book. In the second volume, there is recorded total of 49 species or subspecies of mosquitoes which belong to Subgenus Anopheles and Subgenus Cellia including their characteristics for identification, morphology descriptions, geographical distribution, breeding places etc. The taxonomic positions of some species are also discussed. In the book, there are 74 illustrations, 147 plates of line drawings which can be referred to easy identification.

Volume 2 includes of mosquito species in Culicinae and Toxorhynchitnae. Its main contents cover the biology, summary, morphological description, the deys and systematic proposition for Culicinae mosquitoes. In this book, a total of 240 species of 28 subgenera in 18 genera from Culicinae and 8 species of 1 genera in Toxorhynchitnae were described in Yunnan province, up to now discovered; in the book, it has been noted 53 new species and 26 new recorder species in China since 1980, as well as 130 species, 3 subgenera and 2 genera only were found in Yunnan. Each species in the book was noted by its identifying characteristic, morphological description, distribution, ecological behaviour and taxonomic discussion etc. In the book, it was attached by 1400 copies of figures and 10 colour pictures in 137 pages, all of their providing authors the references on mosquito taxonomy.
