About this book

Language: English with extended Spanish descriptions

In this double-volume, 200 Mexican orchid species are illustrated, mostly from living plants, with analytical details of floral and vegetative structures. Descriptions, nomenclature (including complete synonymy), and updated information on distribution, habitat and conservation are also presented. Features that permit the recognition of each species are emphasized. Information concerning the typification of each taxon (including sometimes selection of neo- and lectotypes) is also supplemented. Twenty six new taxa are proposed in this volume and another thirty eight new nomenclatural combinations and/or status changes are also proposed. Three fourths of the total number of drawings are previously unpublished.
