About this book

Language: German

About 70 million years, the age of the dinosaurs came to an end, and in their place came the mammals. Among the groups that survived this great extinction at the end of the Cretaceous period included crocodiles. Their greatest number of species is found in the Tertiary, today there are only 21 who live in the tropics and subtropics. The author gives an overview of the habitat of the fossil crocodiles and a summary of the opinions as to how they survived the Cretaceous and Tertiary extinctions. The clear drawings give a good insight into the shape of abundance of fossil crocodiles, some of which were up to 18 meter long specimens that could be dangerous to dinosaurs.
