Ein Reisetagebuch läßt eine selbst erlebte Tour der Autoren Revue passieren und hilft dem Leser vor Ort beim Aufstöbern der am häufigsten anzutreffenden Arten, die im zweiten Teil des Buches besprochen werden. Ein Kapitel zur allgemeinen Pflanzenökologie und ein weiteres zu den vorherrschenden Vegetationstypen runden das mit 98 Abbildungen illustrierte Werk ab.
