About this book

Language: German

Baden-Württemberg has an extremely diverse and rich natural environment. This results from varied surface forms, varying climatic conditions and the presence of numerous geological formations. It is also the result of thousands of years of human effects of the landscape which profoundly changed and created a diverse cultural landscape.

Potentielle Natürliche Vegetation von Baden-Württemberg describes the potential vegetation of the area if it was left to regenerate without human interference. Baden-Württemberg would be almost completely covered by forest – except for locations where naturally no forest occurs.

The centerpiece of Potentielle Natürliche Vegetation von Baden-Württemberg is its maps and in particular the map of the Potential Natural Vegetation of Baden-Württemberg on a scale 1: 200,000.
