Providing bats with roost and hibernation spaces in new builds and renovations is becoming increasingly important, as modern buildings tend not to have the natural cavities and access that are found in older buildings. These tiles can be used as part of a mitigation package required by law for existing roosts or as potential access where a roost has not previously been present.
This set of roof tiles is designed to provide bats with access to the underfelt or loft space (if the underfelt is opened). This is particularly attractive to pipistrelle bats who like to roost in confined spaces under tiles. Brown long eared bats may also benefit from such access as they often use roof timbers and ridges inside lofts.
Each set consists of three tiles. The upper tile has a raised tunnel section which provides entry for the bats through the space below. The two lower tiles have cutaway sections to improve this access. This design also has the benefit of improving ventilation.
Tile sets are available in three standard colours: smooth antique, medium antique and dark antique (see images for colour details). Tiles measure 267 x 159mm (10.5" x 6.25") each.
Please note that there is a postage surcharge for these tiles, in addition to the standard shipping charge. This will be £10 for 1-3 tile sets, £15 for 4-7 sets and £20 for 7+ sets (ex VAT). For shipping to locations outside of mainland UK please contact our customer services department.
