Biography

Years of travel and fieldwork have taught the author to be observant and go with the flow, yielding a rich variety of stories. Kevin Winker, Ph.D., is Curator of Birds at the University of Alaska Museum of the North and a Professor in the Department of Biology and Wildlife at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has traveled extensively studying birds, and he lives with his wife Dr. Rose Meier in Fairbanks, Alaska. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and moved to Alaska after several years of postdoctoral research at the Smithsonian Institution.
