Ryby Basseina Azovskogo Moria is both an identification key and atlas to the fish species of the Azov Sea, a shallow sea in the southern part of Eastern Europe, which is linked by the narrow Strait of Kerch to the Black Sea to. The book's main purpose is the determination of all marine, euryhaline, anadromous, semi-anadromous and freshwater fishes located in the Azov Sea basin, including the Ketch Strait and adjacent river deltas. The volume contains information on 141 species of 47 families and 20 orders of three classes of Cyclostomata and fishes: Petromyzontida, Chondrichthyes and Actinopterygii.

The volume consists of text, illustrated with gray figures as a visual key for fish species, and of a supplement with color pictures for most fishes. The volume will be of use to a wide range of people interested in fish, amongst others ichthyologists, students of biological and agricultural disciplines, personnel of fishery institutes, or recreational anglers.
