About this book

Language: French

Initiated by Floraine (the Association of Botanists Lorraine, France) in spring 2002, this atlas is the result of a collective effort of ten years of field research on the state of the regional flora. The authors are all field botanists who have contributed significantly to the knowledge of France's plant heritage, both the "mundane" flora, as well as more exceptional, protected species. Atlas de la Flore Lorraine addresses a critical need for knowledge of biodiversity in order to preserve, protect and stop the erosion of our natural resources.

Atlas de la Flore Lorraine describes over 1800 species and contains almost 5000 illustrations. The distribution maps are based on a database of 420 000 observations.

Aimed at developers, managers, policy makers and all professional and amateur botanists, this atlas is the first of its kind published for Lorraine.
