About this book

Language: French with summaries in English and Portuguese

Serpents et Amphisbènes de Guyane Française is intended for anyone keen to learn more about the Guyanese herpetofauna. During the last decade, the phylogenetic classification of reptiles has seen many changes due to the use of DNA analysis as a new tool for systematics. New genera and species of ophidians are presented and some were put in synonymy. Eight families, 54 genera and 98 species are described, including 6 new species for Guyana and a hybrid form of the genus Epicrates in the wild. To this are added 3 species of amphisbaenians. Also included is a chapter with the latest knowledge on envenomation, treatment and epidemiology. A summary in English and Portuguese are available for each species.

Summary in French:
A cela s’ajoute 3 espèces d’amphisbènes.
