Diatoms of Mongolia summarizes results of comprehensive research on fossil and recent taxa. It covers 1393 taxa and infraspecific taxa (1198 species from 120 genera). Of these, 594 taxa and infraspecific taxa are new to Mongolia and 108 taxa are new to science. One new species, Nupela mongolocollegarum Kulivoskiy & Dorofeyuk sp. nov., is described.
