At one time nearly all species of Heteroptera were placed in Cimex. The end result was a confusing array of names for systematists. This publication is the result of 20 years of research. It helps to determine the current status and placement of trivial names first used in Cimex, including nonbinomial names proposed by DeGeer and Goeze.
