About this book

This thoughtful analysis argues against a view of science as cosy saviour of mankind. The author considers whether science is being used to promote racism as well as the old chestnut of scientists' relationships with big business and the military. Nevertheless, although cautionary, there is hope. Suzuki forcefully stresses the need for mankind to reinvent the future, by freeing ourselves of the dual obsessions of consumption and profit, and re-evaluating our relationships with one another and other organisms.
