About this book

Language: English

From the preface:

"The Indian mulberry (Morinda citrifolia L.), an under exploited and underutilized perennial shrub/tree that is a valuable medicinal plant used in the traditional medicines of tribal and Pacific Islanders as well as food. The recent utilization of noni fruits and other parts for nutrition and health care due to its richness in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmoceutical properties has led many researchers to take up research on various aspects of noni and the future looks bright for this plant. Besides this, now that noni from the wild has become a cultivated plant, farmers are taking up cultivation as pure and intercrops. So, a lot more studies are yet to be done. To plan for future research, it is all the more necessary to look back what has been done so far. We made an earnest attempt to collect the available literature on all aspects of noni research done all over the world and document it here.

This publication has got a collection of more than 600 abstracts on various aspects of research on Morinda citrifolia till date. This compilation will give lot of information and is the first attempt to disseminate this information."
