About this product

RSPB Bempton Cliffs offers an amazing birding experience, whether it's your first visit or tenth. The sight, sound and smell of 200 000 breeding seabirds has to be experienced.

This video site guide, for use with iPod Touch, iPad & iPhone, takes the user around a reserve in real time through a series of videos. The concept is simple. Once downloaded onto your device via iTunes you follow the mapped route on the video site guide and at each numbered ViewPoint, play a video sequence. You the move on to the next ViewPoint and play the next video sequence. The videos viewed in sequence take the user around the reserve showing them where to go, what to see and how to identify key species.

Where most Apps have little content and a few token video or sound clips, these site guides differ in as much as being video based, and due to their size (c 900mb) being too big to download via the app store. Currently, the videos come on a disk and are transferred via iTunes for Apple devices and can thus be loaded and deleted as required without permanently taking up precious space. Alternatively, as the movies are in the .mov format, they can be watched on Windows PCs with for example VLC Media Player. Other platforms and downloads will be the next step.

Gone Birding have been running tours around Europe for over 20 years well as filming wildlife. With this video you can benefit from their experience.
