About this book

Language: German

Since 1970 a bird species is named "Bird of the Year" in Germany, originally based on an idea by the Landesverbands Baden-Württemberg. This book presents all 44 species that have been declared "Bird of the Year" by DBV (which later became NABU), and explains the campaigns of NABU / LBV as well as their successes for the respective species. A first view of the green woodpecker as Bird of the Year 2014 is also given. The book contains a large amount of archival material and offers the interested bird lovers a look behind the scenes of a successful decades-long campaign supporting nature and birds.
