About this book

Until his death in 2012, world-renowned astronomer and broadcaster Sir Patrick Moore edited this indispensable guide for fifty-two consecutive years. With the 2015 Yearbook of Astronomy, his friend and long-time co-editor Dr John Mason continues Sir Patrick's legacy. The Yearbook of Astronomy collects together a month-by-month guide to events to look out for over the coming year, from eclipses and planets, to comets, meteors, nebulae and phases of the Moon. It also contains authoritative charts, astronomical data and a series of specially commissioned articles by some of the world's leading astronomers – a fitting tribute to an extraordinary man who popularized astronomy for over half a century.
