Volume 2 covers the period after 1947. This volume encompasses important developments in Indian forestry in the post-Independence era including the National Forest Policies of 1952 and 1988, laws for wildlife protection forest conservation and biological diversity, social and urban forestry, joint forest management, forest administration, re-organizing forestry research and education forest corporations, national forestry commission and many other milestones.
