About this book

This Cicerone guide to walking on the Mediterranean island of Menorca by Paddy Dillon includes a wide variety of walking. The guidebook features 16 day-routes through towns, nature trails, cliff-top walks and inland hills, woodlands and archaeological sites. Two longer walks are also covered in the guide, the 4-day long Coast to Coast from Mao to Ciutadella, and the excellent 10-day Cami de Cavalls; a circuit tour of the entire island. Most of the island's walking routes, restored in 2011, can also be covered using bicycles or on horse-back.

The guide provides practical information on transport, accommodation, refreshment and ways to explore even in the low season, as well as factual information on the castles, fortifications, windmills, towns and prehistoric stone 'taulas'. Menorca has long been known for its Balearic beaches, this guide looks beyond the summer sun to the wide reach of potential the island offers for walkers.
