About this book

Landscapes and Landforms of Colombia contains a short description of Colombia's geological evolution and present landscapes, followed by systematic descriptions of 17 geomorphosites, selected from scientific and aesthetic points of view. The large climatic and topographic diversity which characterises Colombia permits a broad variety of landscapes, including coastal features, mud volcanoes and desertic geoforms, snow covered peaks and active volcanoes, deeply incised canyons and forming subdesertic valleys and lake located up to 3 000 m above sea level. Landscapes and Landforms of Colombia reflects the intent to contribute to the knowledge of a country which has often been left apart from traditional touristic guides.
