The Rode NT4 consists of a matched pair of 1.3cm (1/2") cardioid condenser capsules fixed in a 90° near coincident alignment. This provides an excellent X-Y stereo array without the need for two separate matched microphones and is ideal for environmental recording as well as for percussion and choirs. The microphone has a dual power option and can be powered by either a 9V battery or 48V phantom power. Stereo XLR and 3.5mm cables are provided meaning that it can be used either with a mixing console or with a mini handheld recorder.
