About this product

The Mobile 'Lucent' Skinner Moth Trap is a unique folding `Skinner' moth trap, with the additional benefits of `Heath' trap type moth deflector vanes. Every component fits snugly in the robust water resistant PVC carry case, which also performs as a base to hold the trap during operation. The design allows for maximum portability and easy storage. This is the 22W circular actinic version that runs off mains electrics.

Features:
* Folding aluminium trap
* Water resistant PVC carry case (Colour variable between Blue, Black or Red)
* Hardwood support bar cross member (electrically safe)
* 22 Watt circular insect attracting bulb
* Water resistant box containing ballast electrics
* 4 metre length of mains cable
* Perspex deflector vanes
* Perspex trap plates
* Perspex moth channelling strips - a unique design which significantly boosts retention.
* Large perspex rain protector (protects bulb and electrics)
* Trap dimensions: 30.5cm long, 40.5cm wide, 30.5cm high

The trap can also be used with a 40W straight actinic bulb. By simply rotating the clips that hold the round actinic bulb, you can mount the straight bulb using the clips. The electrics are suitable for use with bulbs up to 40W. Note, the connector that provides power to the bulb is a 4-prong square adaptor.

  • So far I am reviewing it only on the arrive and set up
    By S 15 Jul 2022
    I received my trap yesterday and have tried to set it up for testing.
    So far the issues occur where the trap sent was not packaged as per the images, the blub was not included in the case, and trying to fit it into the case when the battery pack had been cut into the foam insert meant that the plastic casing was bulging and I was concerned that the bulb would break, I had to take it all out to reconfigure the foam inserts etc. to make it fit.

    I've now been trying to figure out how to fit it together for 30mins - trying to follow the printed instructions - I found them to be extremely poor, as the lack of proper diagrams meant that I haven't got past point 3 and 4 on their set up as I can't see how those steps are achieved as there are no diagrams and no clear images on the handout that shows how that step occurs. I've come online to find videos showing the set up - no luck as yet.

    If I ever manage to get this set up, I'm sure it will be a great moth trap. which is the only reason its getting 2 starts to start with, rather then 1. Unfortunately I can't add images to this review, so that you can see the case, different set up of foam insert config etc. which caused the first issue.

    While I'm sure the trap will work. based on the experiances so far - there is a lot to improive in terms of instructions etc.
